About
The Zonta Club of Prince George's County Area is an organization of professional women who work to advance the status of women worldwide.
The original Zonta Club of Prince George’s County Area was chartered in 1984 and is a local club of Zonta International. Our Zonta Club of Prince George’s County Area is a member of ZONTA International’s Maryland District 3 - Area 4.
Our Zonta Club is a 501(c)(4) non-profit service organization and is committed to advancing the economic, educational, legal, political, and professional status of women in Prince George’s County through local service projects, advocacy and scholarships.
Our works range from providing mentoring, clothing, supplies and support to women and children at local family crisis centers and domestic violence shelters; to marching on Annapolis in support of changing child marriage laws and working with our federal representatives on domestic violence and human trafficking bills; to giving educational scholarships to students who are residents of Prince George's County.
The Zonta Club of Prince George’s County Area has joined Zontians throughout the world to volunteer our time, talents and support to touch the lives of women worldwide and right here in our local community to eradicate violence against women worldwide through programs such as Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women (ZISVAW).
